Table of Contents

Barista training courses teach you to transform raw beans into the flat whites, lattes, and long blacks. The role demands more than just pushing buttons on an espresso machine: it requires understanding extraction, mastering milk texturing, and developing the speed and consistency to serve customers during a busy morning rush. Professional coffee training provides the foundation to build these skills, whether you want to work in hospitality or simply make better coffee at home.

What You'll Learn in a Barista Training Course

Our comprehensive barista course covers the practical experience using professional equipment in a real-world café environment, building the barista skills employers demand. Courses follow the nationally recognised SITHFAB025 Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee unit,

Barista training course teaches students to operate espresso machines, steam milk to create silky microfoam suitable for flat whites, lattes, and cappuccinos, and to prepare and serve espresso coffee across the full range of styles customers expect including short blacks, long blacks, flat whites, cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, mochas, and ristrettos.

Bonus Latte Art Course

For those who want to refine their skills beyond basic training, a dedicated latte art course takes coffee presentation to the next level. Standard barista training covers milk texturing fundamentals, but a dedicated latte art course helps you stand out when applying for café jobs. Customers remember the barista who presents their flat white with a design. Adding a latte art course to your coffee training demonstrates commitment to the craft and gives you a practical advantage in a competitive job market.

A barista course provides an accessible entry point into the broader hospitality industry. Cafés, restaurants, hotels, and bars constantly seek qualified baristas, particularly during peak seasons. This credential can open doors not just to barista positions, but to broader hospitality roles in food and beverage service. Coffee enthusiasts who are passionate about coffee but have no professional ambitions still benefit from barista training.
